Visited Pavilions Lounge at Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel last weekend for a delightful afternoon tea, giving our weekly cafe hopping an “off day” .
As much as we love dessert, it isn’t often that we go for afternoon tea in KL hotels. A 3-tier afternoon tea set can easily costs over RM100++ per person, which really makes us think twice before going. However, this time, it is an exceptional, because Sheraton KL Hotel is offering a really, really affordable Classic Afternoon Tea Experience with 3-Tier Tea Set + mini buffet + TWG tea at only RM84nett per pax!
High ceiling and fully carpeted floor, complemented with a mix of white and wooden brown settings, Pavilions Lounge serves as a cosy venue ideal for get-together to enjoy a “tai-tai” afternoon tea. Be it intimate couple date, friends gathering or small event party, this afternoon tea fits all the time.
Each tray of 3-tier cake stand includes freshly baked scones with cream cheese and fruit jam at the top tier; lemon curd tartlets, raspberry tartlets and French macaroons at the middle tier; Scottish salmon sandwich with crème fraiche on rye bread, truffle scented egg white salad sandwich, smoked turkey & gem lettuce mini wrap with fresh pineapple at the bottom tier.
While Summerkid loved the Scottish salmon sandwich with crème fraiche on rye bread from the savoury plate, Summergirl on the other hand, enjoyed lemon curd tartlets from the sweet plate most. It is so lovely, tickling the tastebuds with a tangy, lemony curd, balanced up with sweet creamy creamy meringue on top.
Besides the tea set, pamper yourself with an endless variety of pastries and other petite fours such as red velvet cake, carrot cake, cheese cake, fruit tart, mousse cake, Financier cake, chocolate mousse cake, mixed fruit cakes, mini chocolate fountain, sable cookies, green tea & raspberry pavlova…
….quiche lorraine, chicken pot pie, rissoto vegetable ball, complete in both sweet and savoury to please the tummy. We personally liked the Financier cake and quiche lorraine. The later is especially great for its thin, flaky crust, holding eggy soft filling within.
What’s make this Sheraton KL high tea buffet more noteworthy is, guests can sip on reputable TWG tea alongside with their cakes, biscuits, tarts, pastries and desserts! Over 20 types of TWG to choose from, covering red tea, green tea, blue tea, black tea, grand classic tea, exclusive tea blends and more. Each pot is refillable. You can opt for coffee in case tea is not your choice.
