Nowadays, not only women care about their appearance, men take care of their physical appearance seriously too. After seeing Summergirl went through her laser CO2 for pore minimizing in Premier Clinic TTDI, Summerkid decided to give it a try, hoping to lighten scars on his face.
So we booked another appointment with consultation from Dr. Kee Yong Seng, a friendly, knowledgeable doctor from Premier Clinic who patiently explained to Summerkid what are the problems he is facing for his face, and what are the suitable treatments available.
Fractional CO2 Laser treatments is highly suggested, one of the new technologies to treat acne scars. The technology utilises laser energy micro beams to penetrate and break down skin tissue through the epidermis. The body will naturally heal and during the process, creating new, healthy tissue to replace the affected areas that have undergone treatment. The scar will be of a lighter colour and the skin texture will be more even, leaving no visible wounds and allows patient to apply make-up after downtime of about one week.
Summerkid began his laser treatment with numbing cream, numbing the face to lessen the painfulness from following process. The doctor then performed subcision, a safe procedure but seemed a bit “scary” to Summergirl. LOL.
A needle was inserted under the scarred area and moved back and forth, breaking up the scar tissue. This releases the overlying skin will be released, decreases the depth of scar depressions. A bit of “bloody” scene, but is OK, for good.
There comes the highlight. Fractional laser treatment, with square grid that delivers laser beam in point, focuses on scarred area. The process took about 10 minutes and by the end of the treatment, Summerkid’s face turned all red, super duper red.
After the fractional laser treatment, it will be followed by 1 session of LED Phototherapy which helps to improve the skin even further painlessly.
Asking on his experience, he said that the face felt hot for about 2 days. The redness began to fade slowly on the forth day, skin started to peel off on the fifth day. Itchiness on the face was unavoidable during skin peeling off process, so do not scratch your face. Do not go under the sun too.
By day 7, skin is clearly smoother, thanks to collagen remodelling. Since this is only first time experience, it was impossible to get 100% renew, smooth and bright skin, but 50% of improvement can be seen. Revisit is advisable to achieve desired result. Depending on your skin, additional treatments are spaced 1-4 weeks apart for a total of 4-5 treatments. Do consult your doctor to determine the best course of action for your skin.
Besides acne scars, this treatment is also suitable for individuals who have skin that is aging, wrinkled, sagging or has an irregular texture. It may also be used to treat skin damaged by the sun or with irregular pigmentation.
Apart from reasonable price for each aesthetic treatment session, Premier Clinic offers 6, 12 and 24 months instalment easy payment scheme for most Malaysian credit cards. Save the worries of paying full amount at one go.
