The Forum KL at Sri Hartamas rides on a glimpse of Melbourne in Kuala Lumpur with a clean and spacious environment- widely surrounded by floor-to-ceiling window panels laced with silver frames, lamp shades hanging from the high ceiling, wooden tables paired with black colour chairs for solid strong touch partially, while the rest completed with light brown and greyish cushioned seats to soften the overall theme.
Minimalism in whole, but cleverly flourished with adornments in different for a more cheerful finish. From bottles brimming in the wall shelves to colour-matching throw pillows, stalks of flowers filled in tall vase glasses, and reading materials piled next to the dessert counter, each plays their role for a more beautiful The Forum KL. Not entirely outstanding but still considerably photography-worthy at almost every corner.
Choose where you want to sit. It can be the long wooden tables at the middle of the cafe if you visited the place in large group; high tables and chairs facing road views of Sri Hartamas; comfortable cushioned sofas stretched out at side areas; or, proceed to the upper floor, sectioned out in a modern industrial style design.
Opening from 11AM through 11PM from Monday to Sunday, The Forum KL offers full-fledge menu ranging from all day brunch (egg benedict, big breakfast, classic pancakes, quiche, salmon panini), soup, salad, main course ( rib eye steak, sirloin steak, burger, chicken roulade, oven roasted chicken, portobello burger, carbonara fettuccine, marinara spaghetti, spaghetti bolognese and vegetarian pasta), desserts, cakes and more. Medium-range price.
Prana Chai RM16
We were there just after lunch, so skip straight to beverage section, saving savoury choices for next visit. Checked out the highly recommended Prana Chai, which received countless positive reviews from many. This Masala Blend is made with natural ingredients, sourcing spices from India, Guatemala and Sri Lanka, handmade in Melbourne.
We had it in soy milk ( can also opt for full cream). It arrived with one mug filled with spices and soy milk, a filter and a latte glass. Put the filter over the latte glass and pour out your drink. As expected, it is not love at the first sip for us, as we never like spices-infused tea. However as we drank on, we began to develop fond on it. The first round was smooth flavour of soy milk, blending in light hints of spices aroma with pale honey sweetness to please. For the second round, guessed we left the remaining milk in the mug for too long, resulting in overpowered spices flavour. A bit harsh to the palate, salty afterness. Our fault. LOL.
Cappuccino RM11
The Forum KL uses blends from AXIL coffee roasters, pulling good shots of espresso for both black and white. Long black, americano, latte, flat white, cappuccino, macha and magic all decent here. Other drinks include bottled juice, soft drinks, mocktail, honey leamon, milk, hot chocolate, wine, cocktail and beer.
Total bill come to RM27 for this round. No service charge and GST during our visit. Service is good and polite. Staffs attended to our request promptly. For beverage, same as many others, Prana Chai Latte is recommended. For savoury food, next time.
Where is the location of The Forum KL Restaurant: After Shell petrol station, within The Signature Residences Sri Hartamas, with Volkswagen Showroom at the ground floor. The Forum is facing the main road. Parking inside the building is expensive at RM10 per hour, RM5 for subsequent hour. Suggest to park by the roadside.
