Hungry Bunch, a new restaurant at Sunway Pyramid that immerses third-wave cafe-style concept at the highest floor of the shopping mall. Located right beside Pasta Zanmai, same row with Maybank, Hungry Bunch covers a wide selections of Western delights and a short list of Asian fares to complete.
Come early if you preferred quiet breakfast or brunch, as the cafe is always full house by noon, be it a weekday lunch or weekend meal. Crowds cover all ages, from students, friends, families, couples to single diner.
Caesar Salad
Soup, salad, burgers, sandwiches, all-day-breakfast set, pastas, fish & chips, chicken chops, beef steak, salmon steak, Nasi Lemak kampung, Char Kuey Teow, Seafood Tom Yam, etc.. proudly fill up Hungry Bunch ala-carte menu but what interest us on our visit last Saturday, is their Weekend Value Set.
Mushroom Soup
Priced from RM26++ onwards, the 5-course set comes with your choice of main course + soup + Zesty Lemon Grass Drink + Caesar Salad + banana split with ice cream. Sounds reasonable, in fact, considered cheap, and will surely get all diners full to the brim by the end of the meal.
Hungryman’s Breakfast
For main course, choose between The Almond Original Carbonara Pasta (RM26, save RM10), Grilled Salmon Steak (RM38, save RM14), Grilled Chicken Chop with Mashed Potato (RM29, save RM13) , Butterfly Salmon with Boiled Cube Potato (RM29, save RM13), Hungryman’s Breakfast (RM32, save RM8)
As its name implies, Hungryman’s Breakfast is meant for hungry guy, therefore its huge portion. Double sunny side up, accompanied by your choice of beef rashers or chicken pastrami, chicken sausages, saute mushrooms, hashbrown, roasted tomato and toasted bread slices with butter.
Grilled Chicken Chop with Mash Potato
We tried out also Grilled Chicken Chop with Mashed Potato, one of the best sellers that highly recommended by Hungry Bunch staff. We enjoyed the crispy skin, but the meat could do better if it were juicier. Cubed vegetables served along steals some limelight, same goes to the mashed potato which is smooth in texture, with lighter creaminess that makes it easy to eat.
Banana Split with Ice Cream
Round up the meal with Banana Split, a dessert that has halved bananas sit with two scoops of ice creams, reminding us our childhood favourite Banana Boat. Just, Hungry Bunch version has minus the whipping cream, cherry and colourful sprinkles hence clearly, healthier but equally lovely.
Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake
In case you need more sweet treats, flip to the Dessert section on Hungry Bunch menu, or make your way to the cake counter near to the entrance to pick for your favourites- Tiramisu, Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake, Cheese Cake, and more.
Chocolate Lava RM13
We personally like the Chocolate Lava, putting together extra rich chocolate cake with warm, melting chocolate ganache oozing out from the center once forked through. May be a little sweet, but within acceptable range. Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Chocolate Iced Blended RM10
Drinks are reasonably priced within RM10. Get your caffeine fix by having espresso, flat white, cappuccino, latte or go for more refreshing drinks like fresh fruit juice, chilling Lemongrass drink or more gimmick selections like Monster Milo.
