BBQ Chicken Restaurant is prides for being the first Korean Chicken Restaurant ‘s brand that uses 100% Olive Oil for frying, thus giving the brand an extra edge over other competing names, providing customers with a tasty yet more healthy deep fried food. As the restaurant ‘s named – BBQ Chicken, Best Best Quality Chicken.
Paris Wings (RM15.90/ 5 pcs, RM28.90/10 pcs, RM53.90/20pcs)
While Summerkid loves the Signature Golden Olive Chicken, Summergirl picks Paris Wings as her recommendation in BBQ Chicken Restaurant. Perhaps diners who enjoy Chinese dishes like Marmaite Chicken or Sweet & Sour Chicken will like this too, as the Paris Wings calls for similarity with these delights. Crispy, spicy and sticky sweet, very appetizing.
Coco-Col RM9.90
The very popular grab and go street snack in Korea. Two layers snack-drink container, having BBQ popcorn chicken nuggets drizzled with mustard and chilli sauce, placed over a cup of drink. One bite of crispy tender chicken, one sip of cold drink.
Spoon Pizza (Sous-Vide Chicken) RM28.90
During our visit to BBQ Chicken at Times Square KL, we decided to skip normal thin crust pizza but go for the Spoon Pizza. Why Spoon Pizza? ‘coz you are suggested to eat the pizza with spoon. The base itself is pancake like, fluffy soft with mild chewiness, generously topped with sous-vide chicken, French fries like potato strips and mozarella cheese. Served with a bowl of honey sauce. Sweet, cheesy, eggy and savoury – Interesting flavour, great for sharing as it is quite filling. Best eaten while the pizza is hot so that you can enjoy the spoon-licious process.
Shrimp Olive Rice RM11.90
Grilled BBQ Jerk Chicken RM 13.90 (1 whole chicken leg with fries)
BBQ Chicken Restaurant ‘s best seller. Whole chicken leg marinated in BBQ Chicken secret Jamaican Jerk Sauce packed for more than 10 hours, then grilled over hot flame, locking juiciness of meat perfectly with flavours of spices distinctly coated over the outer layer. Served with fries.
Sous-Vide Chicken Steak RM27.50
Summergirl’s favourite. We were told that the chicken breast has gone through more than 30 minutes of “massage” before being slow-poached, hence the tender, more juicy texture instead of just unpleasant tough and dry chicken breast. Served with a bed of sauteed baby potatoes, olives, cherry tomatoes and plums, drizzled with olive oil. Definitely an healthier option if you want to skip fried chicken!
Secret Pasta Salad RM17.50
Pene Mushroom Cream Soup RM13.90
A hearty bowl of Mushroom Cream Soup served in “bread bowl”. Soup is surprisingly good, way much better than we expected considering that BBQ Chicken is specializes in chicken dishes. Very creamy, thick in consistency but not cloying. Dip the light, crispy bread with soup, it works well in balance up the cream saltiness.
In short, BBQ Chicken is worth-visiting not only for chicken selections, but also wide range of Western fares. Our top picks go to Sous -Vide Chicken Steak, Pene Mushroom Cream Soup and Olive Fried Chicken.
