Manmaru Robatayaki & Bar Japanese Restaurant at Atria Shopping Gallery, Damansara Jaya PJ proves to be a new milestone for Manmaru brand when they decided to whip up something new and interesting for patrons, a total different concept to Manmaru at Mid Valley Megamall, yet noteworthy.
As its name suggest, Manmaru Atria Shopping Gallery focuses on robatayaki, alongside with wide selections of modern, fusion Japanese delights, all crafted beautifully by the kitchen team superhead by Executive Head Chef Mr. Danny. He is an passionate chef with over 15 years of culinary experience in well-known hotels and restaurants. At Manmaru Atria, every dish is a piece of art.
While the food is assured to earn praises, the restaurant’s interior, is not shadowed too. Exposed bricks at the entrance for raw & rustic touch, followed by welcoming ambience – high ceilings, dark wooden tables with cushioned chairs of similar shades, silver metal chair with comfy upholstery, shiny floor tiles, unmatched modern studio lamps in contrasting colours for a bold, attractive finish.
Manmaru Japanese Robatayaki & Bar has a huge menu list, hence deciding what to eat takes a bit of time. Plus everything on the menu looks good, even better with well-taken, beautiful food pictures. We summarize some of the top must-try dishes here, and hope it helps.
Kushiyaki Moriawase RM68
Do not leave Manmaru without trying their assorted Robatayaki skewers served over wooden log-shape holder, putting together Negima (Chicken with Leek), Shake (Salmon), Hotate (Scallops), Tebasaki (Chicken Wing), Sunagimo (Chicken Gizzard), Eringi (King Mushroom), Kamo (Smoked Duck and Pineapple), Tomato Beef Bacon Roll and Gyuniku Saikoro (Diced Beef). For diners who prefer having only particular robatayaki skewers, ala-carte choices are made available between RM9 – RM35 per 3 sticks.
Salmon Ikura Millefeuille RM45
Diced raw, moist salmon layered with glossy, popping fish roe, laid on a bed of creamy wasabi mayo that blends in a touch of pungent spiciness. Vivid in appearance; subtle, delicate in the palate.
Coral Bash Salada RM18
The basic of Coral Bash Salada is a potato salad, but when umami sweetness of mini shrimp, fish roe, tiny crabs come in, together with crispiness from roasted seaweed. There you go, a new level of flavours.
Treasure In the Deep RM28
Treasure In the Deep, fork deep till the bottom of the tall glass to discover a pleasing combination that lives up to the name. Fresh, bouncy prawn ball jacketed with crispy, deep fried golden brown breaded outer layer. Placed in smooth, delicate pumpkin-mango puree that calls for natural sweet and tangy concoction. Munch slowly to enjoy the plenty of textures within. Highly recommended.
Chef’s pick of sashimi combination – 3 sashimi varieties of the season (RM68), 4 sashimi varieties of the season (RM80), 5 sashimi varieties of the season (RM150), 7 sashimi varieties of the season (RM210). Premium, air-flown.
Wagyu Roll RM68
Wagyu Roll, one of the special dish that Manmaru Robatayaki & Bar prides at. Giant sushi rice ball covered in a slice of wagyu beef. Minimal seasoning, just original freshness, you get to savour the most original, best flavours of beef.
Pacific Ocean Grill (RM 68)
Sanuki Pasta RM38
Summergirl’s favourite, almost wanted to order a second helping. Manmaru ‘s udon is certainly promising, seeing that Manmaru Mid Valley was once specializes in freshly made udon. Stir fried udon retains most of their chewiness, enhanced with aroma of Foie Gras, umami sweetness of seafood.
Wafu Spaghetti RM48
We’re afraid the Wafu Spaghetti doesn’t earn our liking but our friends love it. Using braised method, the pasta is slow-cooked with flower crabs and seafood, allowing flavours of the sea to infused into the gravy. Very flavourful, better if it could be less salty.
Mango Gyoza RM19
Jikasen Tiramisu RM22
Looks like an out-of-shape tiramisu but trust us, Manmaru Robatayaki & Bar tiramisu is sooo good! It is surprisingly light and refreshing, melt-in-mouth but creamy enough to deliver the richness of mascarpone cheese. One of the best homemade tiramisu we have tasted by far. Must-have dessert!
Coconut Ice Cream RM18
Homemade green tea ice cream, black sesame ice cream, and Japanese citrus ice cream. Manmaru Atria seems to have an ice cream menu that most Japanese restaurants have too. Look twice, they have coconut ice cream! Manmaru’s version is not sorbet style, but heavily loaded with flavours of coconut milk, the “very lemak” feel.
Cocktails are taken seriously in Manmaru too, all skilfully crafted by their mixologist. You may pick from the signature cocktails list- Spring Peach, Smoked & Plum Galaxy, Apple Gravity Beer, Yuzu Samurai, Vintage Sakura; or just suggest your favourite alcohol type (Gin, Vodka, Sake, Shochu, Whiskey, etc.) and let the bar to decide for you.
