Outback Steakhouse, the restaurant for one of the best steaks in town has opened 2nd outlet at Nu Sentral, Kuala Lumpur. After delivering delicious, mouth-watering American-style food for so many years at Bukit Bintang Plaza (BB Plaza, opposite LowYat entrance), their second opening at NU Sentral will certainly bring more joys to diners.
Strategically located at Nu Sentral Shopping Mall LG Floor, Outback Steakhouse can be reached by Putra LRT, KTM or Monarail. It is situated near to the main entrance, two doors away from Espresso Lab Coffee, beside Toast Box. The new Outback houses a more spacious area, thoughtfully designed to portray a classic elegance.
Wooden furnishing, beige cushioned seats with chairs legs in dark brown; walls comes in light tone, adorned with colourful framed pictures, further completed with hue yellow light to exude a calm, relaxing environment. Overall brighter than BB Plaza Outback Steakhouse which is dim in lighting, more romantic.
Alice Springs Chicken Quesadilla (Full RM27.95, Half RM19.95)
Salad, appetizers, seafood, poultry, steaks, burgers, meat combos and desserts spans across the Outback Steakhouse menu, sufficient for diners who craving for standard, popular American food. We had an order of Alice Springs Chicken Quesadilla, still as great as the version we had back in BB Plaza. Grilled chicken breast, sautéed mushroom, beef bacon and cheese generously stuffed within two crispy, chewy flour tortilla. So flavourful, bursting with melting, cheesy goodness.
Appetizer Duo RM22.95
Kookaburra Wings and Crispy Fried Mushrooms are two of the best selling appetizers in Outback Steakhouse, available at RM22.95 (full), RM15.95(Half) for the Kookaburra Wings and RM24.95 for Crispy Fried Mushroom. Order the Appetizer Duo to savour both, as you can hardly decide which one is better. Crispy Fried Mushroom is breaded, crispy at the outside, envelops with lots of fat, natural juiciness of mushroom. Kookaburra Wings on the other hand, is very much like Buffalo Wings, tossed in a savoury blend of secret spices and paired with cool creamy Blue Cheese dressing and celery. Choose among mild, medium or hot.
BBQ Beef Ribs Full RM59.95 , Half RM39.95
Outback Steakhouse best-seller from the main courses menu. Portion is huge, having meaty rack of tender, succulent beef ribs basted in smoky sweet BBQ sauce. Outback’s ribs is smoked and grilled to perfection, something they always pride at. Served with a bed of Aussie fries.
For diners who are not in the mood for beef ribs or steaks, a selection of poultry and seafood dishes are available too. We highly recommend Seafood Mixed Grill which puts together a boneless salmon fillet with seasoned grilled shrimp and scallops. Salmon fillet is good, pleasantly flavoured up with tangy, appetizing sauce of fresh diced mango salsa but to use, the grilled shrimp and scallops is the clear winner- juicy and plump, slightly charred, a faint hint of burnt aroma.
Signature Steaks are always the highlights in Outback Steakhouse. The restaurant goes particular on their steak, where it is hand-selected, aged just right, inspected and trimmed before delivered to the kitchen. Diners can choose between signature sirloin, T-bone, New York Strip, Victoria’s Filet and rib eye according to their liking. The kitchen team will then expertly sear the steak on red hot grill, sealing in juiciness, and bold flavours of meat. Our T-bone steak is good, but better if the doneness can be more consistent throughout the whole steak.
Seafood Pasta RM27.95
Indulge in a plate of Seafood Pasta brimming with squid, prawns, mussels, intense with sharp flavours of garlic and mild spiciness of homemade spaghetti tomato sauce, finished with sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Though we prefer the tomato-ish version, Outback Steakhouse tells us that the No Rules Pasta that has fettuccine tossed in cream base sauce is the all-time-favourite.
Cinnamon Oblivion RM17.95
Summergirl’s favourite in our entire meal in Outback Steakhouse, the must have for cinnamon lovers. Portion is enough for two, with huge scoop of vanilla ice cream crowned with delicately smooth fresh cream. Topped with liberal amount of crispy cinnamon croutons, pecans, warm cinnamon apples, finally laced with salty sweet caramel sauce. Marvelous dessert to end the meal, thanks to its complex flavours and texture, as well as the twist of warm cinnamon-scented apples and chilling ice cream.
Outback Steakhouse offers also set lunch menu starting from RM17.90++, which is currently the crowd favourite during lunch. Do check out this new restaurant the next time you at NU Sentral.
