Thirdwave Cafe at Nexus Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur joins the thirdwave coffee scene in town, naming the cafe after this international “THIRDWAVE” movement, striving to produce not only top quality coffee, but also a menu brimming with creativity while maintaining the core essence of classic dishes.
Breakfast and Brunch menu is served from 10am till 4pm, prepared to reach homemade goodness with quality ingredients. Make it into Set Lunch during weekdays, which comes with Ice Lemon Tea or Long Black. We top up extra RM2 to get milk-based coffee.
Darling’s Egg RM22
A hearty platter combining colourful ingredients. A bed of tangy tomato & French rose sauce topped over with rocket salad, smoky chicken salami, crispy polenta and 63C eggs.
Clearly, the 63C eggs steal the limelight – Delicately cooked at 63 celsius to result in smooth, soft egg white which is solidified to the right level, just enough to encased the-still-runny, yellowish egg yolk.
Overall, the Darling’s Egg is decent. Every ingredient from the egg to the sauce, undoubtedly fares excellent, but sadly, not much surprises in term of taste. Retro Scotch Egg is claimed to be noteworthy too, perhaps next time.
Flat White RM10
Thirdwave Cafe has their own blend, roasted exclusively according to their requirements to set a specific flavour profile they strongly adhere to. Nonetheless, components may change accordingly to suit seasonal choices and freshness. Hence in different visits, you may discover different coffee flavours from all over the world throughout the year.
