With the amount of steamboat restaurant blooming across around KL and Klang Valley, we can now easily have a decent steamboat (sometimes buffet) meal that is fairly priced but once in a while, we love visiting hotels for their steamboat promotion, as the premium broth base and ingredients offered are sometimes beyond those we tried out in normal steamboat restaurants.
Take the “All Steamed Up-Oriental Steamboat” promotion launched by Celestial Court, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel recently as example, we enjoy dipping slices of meats and vegetables into their five signature steamboat hot broth, namely “Lui Yee Hung” Chinese Wine with Cordyceps Herbs Soup, Jade Porridge, Hot Slipper Lobster Soup, Thai Tom Yam Soup and Chicken Ginseng Soup. All delicately boiled with high quality ingredients, deeply flavoured.
“Lui Yee Hung” Chinese Wine with Cordyceps Herbs Soup
This must-try signature soup is enhanced with “Lui Yee Hung”, a type of Chinese wine made from glutinous rice and wheat, hence enjoy the hints of wine fragrance while feeling rejuvanate with goodness of cordyceps herbs soup.
Jade Porridge
Porridge base vegetarian broth with a blend of spinach, which is claimed to stregthen the bones, nourishing the eyes and contains anti-cancer and anti-inflammantory antioxidants.
Hot Slipper Lobster Soup
Go luxious with Hot Slipper Lobster Soup, a broth which is intensed with umaminess of slipper lobster, flavour heat up with spiciness from “ma la” sauce.
Thai Tom Yam Soup
Order the Thai Tom Yam Soup if you couldn’t live up without spicy, tangy and flavourful broth in your steamboat meal.
Chicken Ginseng Soup
A very subtle soup base that is potent with essence of chicken and ginseng, mild but nourishing.
Enjoy the bubbling hot soup with three types of set- Mushroom set (RM49.90++ per person), Poultry Set (RM55.50++ per person) and Seafood Set (RM68.90++ per person). Minimum sitting for the steamboat is two persons, and you can choose to have dual soups.
This promotion is available from August 2014 onwards. Remember to check out their “Lui Yee Hung” Chinese Wine with Cordyceps Herbs Soup and Hot Slipper Lobster Soup. Our favourite and definitely worth trying out.
