Tucked away at a quiet corner In Plaza Mont Kiara, Bowl & Thai may not earn the attention of many, but you will be regret if you missed it out in your KL’s must-have Thai restaurants list. The cafe is opposite to Galaxy Korean Mart, houses just a small area, minimal decoration with foldable tables and chairs, a total contrast from many established Thai restaurants that highlight fine Thai cuisines with grandeur design. And yet, you will be surprise with the delicious Thai favourite street food served here.
Bowl & Thai menu covers quintessential Thai delicacies in individual portion, ideal for quick lunch such as Pad Thai, Pork/Chicken Noodle Soup, Thai Stew Pork Rice, Thai Fried Rice, Tom Yum Goong with rice as well as sharing choice like Spicy Sour Soup, Kerabu Sotong and Mango Salad.
Thai Stew Pork & Rice (RM10.00)
Do not leave Bowl & Thai without indulging in this guilty pleasure- Thai Stew Pork & Rice, and you will want to have second bowl. Gelatinous, melt- in-mouth fat layer set off by tender chunks of stewed pork meat, top over a bed of rice deeply infused with braise sauce, intense with sweetness and flavour of pork from long stew. Simple. Satisfying.
Thai Style Shrimp Omelette with Rice
Crisp at the edge, fluffy at the inside, we love this golden brown omelette beautifully laid over bowlful of rice. Good on its own, but can be dry when pairing only with white rice. Skip the worries as Bowl & Thai serves this order with a bowl of plain Tom Yum soup.
Tom Yam Gung with Rice (RM11.00)
A bowlful of red hot soup brimming with spiciness and sourness, opens up your appetite while warming up the stomach at the same time. Generously loaded with ingredients like prawns, tomatoes and needle mushrooms, Bowl & Thai’s tom yum soup definitely worth every penny you pay for.
Clear Tom Yum Soup
We like the clear tom yum soup more as it delivers a sharper, bolder flavours alongside with distinct aroma from herbs and spices. More sour than the red version, and less spicy.
Thai Minced Pork & Basil Rice with Egg (RM10.00)
This popular Thai dish packs together pleasant fragrance of basil leaves, spicy heat of sliced chilli, savoury of fish sauce with sweetness of minced pork during quick stir-fried to yield for a rich, full flavour dish that will urge you to order more bowls of rice.
Thai Chicken Feet Salad
Not everyone likes chicken feet, but if you do, this Thai Chicken Feet Salad is for you-Deboned chicken feet mix with small chillies, tomato, onions, cilantro to sum up for a refreshing, pungent sensation. Lots of chewiness and crunchiness.
