Continue on we tried out Tai Chung egg tart, which was just a stone throw away from Lan Fong Yuen. Pastry was crumbly with light eggy filling, it is just nice to pair with a glass of coffee or milk tea. Prefer to have flaky, puffy pastry with lots of layering instead of this version.
Standing by the roadside, Summergirl jumped with joy as she saw a shop with red circle sign.
It was Goods of desire (G.O.D) 住好啲, located just opposite to Tai Chung Confectionery. G.O.D was much nearer than we thought of, also one of the places we like the most in Central. This little shop was separated into two floors, selling medley of cute, funky and extra ordinary stuffs. Ideal for home use, gifts or souvenirs.
G.O.D is founded in 1996. It started humbly as a small retail space in Ap Lei Chau, until today, the shop successfully surface their name internationally, with well established outlets in different areas of Hong Kong like Tsim Sha Tsui, Central, Causeway Bay, as well as China, Singapore.
Goods of Desire(G.O.D) strives to bring reminiscent of Hong Kong together with modernity and culture of the city into daily life, presenting multi-faceted products that are bold, artistic, yet not less to portrayed quirky Hong Kong feel.
G.O.D also further extends their unique design by participating in various projects such as collaborated with Starbucks to create “Bing Sutt Corner” at Dudell Street in Central; teaming up with Kukri Sports to produce merchandise for 2012 Hong Kong Sevens tournament. They also contribute to the community activities through SPCA crossover project.
Here, you can easily get blown away with their creativity- Photoframe adorned with Double Happiness,Bookmarks in the shape of iron gate, Newspaper Mouspad, Yau Ma Dei Graffiti portfolio bag, Double Happiness dinner plates, Newspaper print apron, and more.
Bits and everything here worth your time to appreciate slowly. They could be pricey, but we didn’t mind buying a few as souvenirs, seeing that every piece of the product is an art that carries G.O.D style, not the key chains commonly seen in night markets and tourist streets.
Drop by any of the G.O.D if you were here in Hong Kong!
