This Ramadhan month, walk through the buffet in Chatz Brasserie, PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur during buka puasa time to enjoy a wide spread of “Kampung” dishes prepared by skilled chefs, satisfying the taste buds of those who are far away from home.
Available from 29th June to 27th July 2014, Chatz Brasserie PARKROYAL Ramadhan buffet is priced at RM125nett per adult and RM62.50 nett per child. There are four menus on rotation daily, ensuring diners to be spoilt with choices on different days.
Entice the tastebud with choices of kerabu such as Nasi Kerabu, Kerabu Pucuk Paku, Kerabu Ikan BIlis and Kerabu Jantung Pisang before moving on to Ulam section which features Ulam Raja, Daun Selom Pucuk Ubi, Puck Pegaga, Terung Pipit, Nangka Muda and more.
Oyster lovers will get rejoice with huge, fresh oyster from the bed of seafood on ice. Poached mussels and prawns are also in sight. Pair them with lemon and lime wedges, cocktail sauce and spicy tomato sauce.
Next, dish out Gulai Kawah Ikan Tongkol and Daging Tetel into your plate and be ready to tuck in these rich, taste bud tickling local favourite. Don’t forget to scoop a full ladle of sauce onto your rice, the gravy works well in flavouring up your rice.
Grilled Station offers assorted Ikan Bakar and Wrapped Cockles served with homemade sauce of Sos Asam, Sos Kicap Pedas, Sos Cili Thai, and Kalasan Sauce. We tried out the grilled dory fish, not to bad, just a bit dry. So add in some Sos Kicap Pedas to fix the let down.
We love their satay, available in both chicken and beef. Huge chunks of meats, nicely grilled to minimal charred edge with a touch of aroma from spices rubbed over the meat. Rice dumplings, onion, cucumber and peanut gravy is prepared before diners, perfect with satay.
The noodles station seems shadowed, located at the end of the corner serving Mi Rebus and Wanton Noodles Soup. Summergirl churn out a small bowl of Wanton Noodles with BBQ Chicken and Dumpling. Surprisingly, the noodles was way better than we expected. Soup is sweet and nourishing; dumpling is slurpy smooth, brimming with minced meat. Worth checking out.
For Iftar Mains, Ikan Masin Lemak Nenas, Tempe Kacang Panjang Berlada, Telor Ikan Kari Terung, Udang Galah Goreng Mamak, Ikan Duri Masak Berlada, Rendang Paru and Hati continue to satisfy the palate of diners, while reminding them the feeling of dining back home in the village with family.
Briyani rice, the must have staple during Buka Puasa is also available and served with beef or chicken, along with fruit pickle, Dhalcha and Papadom. Chatz Brasserie PARKROYAL Hotel highly recommends their chef speciality, Ayam Percik, which goes through a day of marination, then roasted to perfection with a beautiful blend of spices and sauce.
The restaurant also brings in Western twist by having BBQ Venison Leg in the buffet spread. Tender and smoky with a gamey hint, it is good at its original flavour but diners can pair them accordingly with Black Pepper, Mushroom and Mint Sauce.
Complete the meal with Sago Gula Melaka, Tapai Pulut, Kuih Lapis, Kuish Cara Berlauk, Kuih Seri Muka, Kuih Bakar Pandan, Kuih Lopes, Puteri Mandi, Onde-Onde, Lepat Pisang Beremdam and more local Nyonya Kueh from the dessert counter.
