The men behind Tom, Dick & Harry, Royal Flush Restaurant and Ali, Muthu & Ah Hock has extended their business not so long ago, launching another restaurant in Oasis Ara Damansara named Crazy Crabs. The whole restaurant is spacious, but unpretentious with only basic design. No raw and rustic sign as in Tom, Dick & Harry; grandeur and elegant interior as in Royal Flush; local kopitiam concept as in Ali, Muthu & Ah Hock. Welcoming you will be just huge round tables and red plastic chairs, more local, as Crazy Crabs strike to make their marvelous crabs takes the limelight, not ambience.
Salted Baked Crab (RM80/KG)
The crowd favourite. Seasoning is minimal but as said by one of our friends, this is how a good, fresh, plump crab should be cooked. Not overwhelmed by the taste of sauce, every bite is brimming with natural sweetness and juiciness of crab meat.
Kam Heong Crab (RM80/KG)
However, if you like your crab to be dotted with more flavours, we recommend the Kam Heong Crab, skillfully dry fried to bring out the best flavor of dried shrimp, curry leaves, chilli, shallots and garlic. The spicy, aromatic, robust gravy coated on crab sealed with juicy meat is so finger licking good.
Butter Milk Crab (RM80/KG)
Butter Milk Crab is on the menu list for diners who prefer to have their crab drenched in creamy, milky gravy. Lick the buttermilk dressed atop the crab shell clean before digging into the meat, and dip toasted bun into the leftover gravy. Bread is never pale with the fragrance tang of buttermilk. Better if there was deep fried man tou to order.
Curry fish head (RM50/small, RM80/medium, RM100/large)
Do not leave the restaurant without trying the Curry Fish Head. The pot of curry is generously loaded with fish fillet, eggplant, long beans, beancurd, etc., all soak up the spicy and rich broth like a sponge, breaking down the wonderful flavours in the palate once popping into mouth. Rice? Give me two bowls.
Grilled lamb RM25
Lightly seasoned and bring to flamed grill, you can hardly deny the smoky, barbequed sensation that drive in as you sink your teeth into this tender, juicy lamb. No sauce is needed, best at its original.
Sang Har Tung Fun (RM45/small, RM80/medium, RM100/large)
Summergirl loves this a lot. Apparently, if minus the huge Sang har, the tung fun itself is very “mummy” taste. Not much seasoning is needed, as the umami sweetness unveiled from fresh prawns coupled with Chinese rice wine is good enough to sum up a luscious broth, fully absorbed by the glass noodle. Take a full mouthful and have the tung fun graciously slithers down the throat, to draw a full satisfaction on face.
Chicken Satay RM1.20/stick
Chunks of meaty chicken on skewers, layered with a touch of sweetness within savoury munch.
Chicken Wing RM3/pc
Lightly battered and deep fried to golden brown, chicken wing in Crazy Crab may be basic, but not drown among thoese mouth-watering crustaceans. Still one of the crowd favourites for its addictive crispy outside, tender inside meat. Best to go with beer.
Anchovy Fried Rice (RM14/small, RM18/medium, RM27/large)
Not exactly wok hei loaded, but considered decent. Well seperated rice, stir fried to dry-bodied with anchovies to add more bites.
