Located in Aman Suria, Wizard Kitchen is a small, cosy cafe that served a wide range of homey food. Most of the food are her personal favourites, and also inspiration from the food she had tasted while travelling abroad for 10 years in UK, as well as her mum recipe.
Lo Bak (RM6.90)
Take the Lo Bak as example, it doesn’t promote the very crisp outer layer and extra flavourful filling, but it tastes just so homey that you will tuck in one piece after another one.
Fried Wantan (RM4.90)
Deep Fried Wantan has minced meat filling encased within wantan skin, proud for its crispy crackling.
Crispy Pork Spring Roll (RM4.50)
Instead of just normal spring roll filling, Wizard Kitchen’s version is added with deep fried vermicille, giving more crunch and texture to the roll.
Meat Balls (RM6.90)
Pop the mouth size meatball in whole to get a satisfying meaty chew.
Japanese Curry Pork Chop Rice (RM11.90)
Coming to mains, the first arrives is the Japanese Curry Pork Chop Rice. Breaded pork chop deep fried to golden brown, crisp outside with juicy tender meat within. The topping of Japanese curry tone down the crispiness, but rendering a creamy mild spiciness to the dish. Goes well with rice.
Spicy Creamy Butter Pork (RM10.90)
Deep fried pork chunks drenched in a bed of spicy, creamy and buttery gravy. We like the hint of spiciness within the buttery sensation, again, another mains that goes really well with a bowl of rice.
Special Pork Noodle (RM11.90)
Pork noodle, hearty in portion and generously loaded with pork balls, pork intestine and various pork inards. Ladled gracefully with clear soup gathering sweetness of of pork, match well with smooth, slurpy koew teow.
Pork Rendang Noodle (RM10.90)
This noodle seems to have fulfill our crave for wantan mee with chicken curry. We always like to have dried wantan mee with scoop of chicken curry ladled over, and this Pork Rendang Noodle seems similiar, just in pork version, with equally creamy, thick and aromatic curry served over a bed of springy noodle tossed in dark sauce.
Pan Mee (RM8.90)
Soup is not as flavourful as many places, but we got a taste of home here. Light nourishing soup with flat noodles, garnished with minced pork, deep fried anchovies, vegetables and pork balls. The let down, flat noodles carries flourish taste, impacting the overall flavour.
Peanut & Sweet Sauce cheong Fun (RM4.90)
We find this special, never thought that peanut sauce can complement so well with cheong fun. It was fun coating the cheong fun thickly with peanuty sauce and sweet dark sauce. A brand new try of sweetness and creaminess within chewiness.
House Special Sandwich (RM7.90)
A sandwich that defintely suits the name ‘House Special’. The sandwich doesn’t look good, and the combination of dried meat, chicken floss and egg within toasted bread was unique from the usual chicken ham, egg and cheese filling. We doubt the taste at first, but taking a deep bite into the huge, overflowing fillings, we were quite surprised that it was really good. One can easily resemble this at home, but of course you can drop by at Wizard Kitchen for this quick snack during weekday lunch or dinner.
Layered Honey Milk Tea (RM4.60)
Arrived in three layers, the milk tea looks deceiving with honey at the bottom, milk at the middle and tea at the top section. We took some time to dilute the honey with milktea as the drink is in cold iced base, but it was worthwhile when we sipped on the very fragrant, smooth and thick milk tea with pleasant aroma of honey.
Sago Gula Melaka (RM4.90)
Compressed sago pearls shawored with creamy coconut milk and mellow palm sugar syrup. Topping is passable, but there’s still room of improvement for the sago as the consistency is a tad too hard.
Creme Brulee (RM4.90)
We ended the meal with Creme Brulee.A simple dessert that promotes a soft, subtle texture. Not much surprise.
