Nestled at the 3rd floor in Bangsar Shopping Centre, Twenty. One may be hidden, but definitely worth some walks to reach. We were there for dinner last week, and were stunned with the spectacular environment once entered, never thought that there would be such a great place at the hidden corner of the mall.
The restaurant welcomed us with contemporary modern design divided into two main sections. The outdoor section boasts a relax, cozy ambience, having white table cloth settings with dark brown cushion to create a warm and calm atmosphere that allow diners to dine comfortably while enjoy the beautiful night view of KL city from afar.
Ornamental carvings and curtains separating the outdoor section, reaching an indoor area which is equally spacious but a total contrary from the outside. It is hip and stylish, with shinny long bar and pub like seatings, continuous live music to keep the late night young.
Warm Beef Salad (RM18.00)
We started the meal with Warm Beef Salad, a highly recommended dish that combines Western with a twist of Asian. Different from the usual salad that is loaded with romaine lettuce, tomato, cabbage and so on, Twenty. One’s version is bursting with a unique texture combining crispiness of four angle beans; fresh greeny of rocket leaves; chewiness of beef and zestiness of shredded young mango. Appetizing yet healthy with balanced nutrition.
Tomato and Mozzarella Salad (RM26.00)
Our all time favourite that has tomato and mozerella cheese interlaying each other, laced with pesto, rocket leaves and balsamic reduction. Enjoy the juiciness, cheesiness and chewiniess in one go.
Pandan Chicken (RM17.00)
Pandan Chicken is awesome. Six sticks of chicken skewers aligned gracefully with a side of Thai sauce, meaty and aromatic. Smoky and loaded with juciness, the chicken is brushed over with sauces rendering a sweet, sourish, and spicy concoction, mingled with a faint hint of pandan leaves aroma. Good enough to have it own its own, but for diners who prefer spicer kick can have a dip to the thai sauce for extra level spiciness.
The Chicken Tikka Marsala (RM28.00)
The girl loves the Chicken Tikka Marsala, a bed of shell pasta heavily coated with creamy, minty cream sauce, topped over with a generous piece of chicken tikka. Even though it is from the breast side, but the toughness is surprisingly a pleasant texture, and the thinly sliced cucumer brilliantly plays the trick, bringing crisp of juiciness that tone down the toughness of chicken.
Seafood Spaghetti (RM38.00)
For mains, we first tried out the Seafood spaghetti, a hearty bowl of pasta brimming with flavours from the sea. Tomato based, the pasta is nicely coated with light tomatoish, not too heavy but knock the right creaminess to please the palate.
Steak and Chips (RM38.00)
Done medium, the steak is juicy, succulent flavours added with a shower from the tangy, flavourful garlic rosemary sauce. Served along with thick cut potato.
Banana Chocolate (RM16.00)
The banana chocolate gives a change from the usual tart base dessert by replacing the tart with flaky chocolate biscuit crumbes compressed into nest shape, giving deeper flavours that pairs well with sweet, creamy banana mash filling. No doubt banana and chocolate always make a perfect match.
Oreo Cheesecake (RM18.00)
One of the creamiest Oreo cheesecakes we had tasted, creamy from the bottom till the the top. Apparently, what we find special is the frosting that topped over the cake- sweet and milky.
Passion Fruit Creme Brulee (RM18.00)
Apart from the Banana Chocolate, Twenty. One also creatively add in new flavours into Creme Brulee- Passion Fruit. But to be frank, it is a you like or hate it choice. While the friends like it so much, the girl still prefers the classic creme brulee. No doubt, this dessert deserves a thumbs up for the very smooth, subtle and soft texture.
