Congratulations on the launching for Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur (GKL) ‘Pleasure’ cookbook, the healthy fine dining cookbook that contains 80 recipes contributed by more than 20 local and foreign chefs from top restaurants and hotels in the country.
Priced at RM129 each, ‘Pleasure’ is categories into four sections: salad and vegetables, noodles and grains, seafood and meat, and dessert. The recipes cover both local and international cuisines including Malay, Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Western dishes, offering the incentive to cook healthy and flavoursome fine dining meals for families with comfort in their own homes.
All these mouth watering recipes have received stamp of approval from GKL’s Chief Dietician Lim Ai Leng, who carefully evaluate each of the recipe from the ingredients selections to calories contents of each dish. Together with the book, a healthy dining guide is included too.
Regional Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospital and Chief Executive Officer Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur Amir Firdaus Abudullah said that he was truly excited to share the ‘Pleasure’ with the public.
He mentioned, as Malaysians, food-related activities are always the favourite pastime of the nation, seeing that Malaysia is food paradise with plentiful food selections from different races. It is too difficult for the nation to balanced out ‘taste’ and ‘health’ in daily meal consumption when we are trying to please both the senses and bodily system at the same time.
Hence, with this in mind, GKL has decided to come up with this food guide to guide the nation towards a healthier lifestyle, while still able to enjoy the good flavours of delicious food.
” The book is the culmination of the painstaking and rigorous selection process of the recipes, cooking and tasting over the past nine months. We hope “Pleasure” inspires everyone to create delicious yet healthy gastronomic delights in their own homes,” Amir added.
GKL has also select four recipes from the cookbook to be added to its own fine dining menu for its patients. In conjunction with the launched of Pleasure, the hospital hopes to raise RM100,000 from the sale to be channelled to various cancer related organisations.
‘Pleasure’ is available at GKL and all major book stores. For more information about ‘Pleasure’ or any Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur related activities, please log on to www.gleneagleskl.com.my.
