Rama V, being one of the participating restaurants for Kuala Lumpur Restaurant Week, has crafted a special lunch and dinner menu to cater this special week which will be held from 4th to 10th October 2013. The lunch Menu is priced at RM38 nett, serving three courses from starter, main course to dessert. The dinner is also come is three courses, and priced at RM78 nett.
Lunch Menu:
Kao Thang Na Tang
Lunch menu starts with Kao Thang Na Tang that has combination of Papaya Salad and crispy rice served with Minced Chicken & shrimp sauce. Papaya salad is spicy, with a touch of tanginess that easily whet up the appetite. Crispy rice that served together is good too, and be ready to get addictive with the combination of crunchy munch rice crackers topped with flavourful minced chicken in thick gravy.
Kai Pad Ka Pao
Continue on there is main course Kai Pad Ka Pao, a simple plate of sauteed minced chicken stir fried with hot basil leaves and sided with Kai Lan. The minced chicken, though simple but is packed with flavours, especially ideal to go with a bowl of white rice.
Water Chestnut Dumplings with Jack Fruit in Vanilla Ice cream
Fresh,juicy red rubby and jack fruit drenched in creamy, sweet vanilla ice cream, a dessert that will definitely bring a sweet note to end the 3-course-meal. Enjoy the bursting juiciness of red rubby once biting through.
Dinner Menu:
Thai Style Chicken Sate with Yam Ma Muend (Mango Salad)
For dinner menu, Rama V presents Thai Style Chicken Sate in Mango Salad as starters. Both starters are note worthy, where the former showcases tender and juicy bites with light sweetness at outer layer. Thumbs up. The later combines a toss of shredded young mango with crunchy crushed peanuts, an interesting mix of creaminess, sweet and mild spiciness.
There are two choices available for dinner main course, which is Butter Beef with Black Pepper and Stir Fried Grilled vegetables or Duck with Hot Basil Leaves and Stir Fried Long Beans with Belacan. We try out the Butter Beef with Black Pepper, and feel glad that chef is good in balancing the flavours of beef and black pepper. The black pepper sauce comes in gently and clings to the tender pieces of meat at the right level, enhancing the overall flavours without making it overwhelmed.
Water Chestnut Dumplings with Jack Fruit in Vanilla Ice Cream
Same as lunch, the dessert for dinner is also ends with Water Chestnut Dumplings with Jack Fruit in Vanilla Ice Cream, an all time favourite that you shouldn’t miss in Rama V.
