PH pastry House has shifted out from its previous location in Jalan Imbi, giving way for the built of MRT. So near to the place we are staying yet we were not in time to try it out.
And they are back again, with brand new shop at Lakefield Sungai Besi, a new area that is still quiet, with many shoplots waiting to be rented out. The thought of going to this newly shifted location just popped out one Saturday noon, so we packed our laptops, thinking of spending a lazy afternoon there while sipping on a cup of aromatic coffee.
We were greeted with warmth welcome once reached. The place was spcious, clean with simple decorations. As soon as we sat down, one of the waitresses came over and told us that their coffee machine was broke down, so we only have options of ice lemon tea, cold milk and iced chocolate for drinks.
“……” speechless, and we ordered iced chocolate.
Iced Chocolate (RM11.50)
Thanks that the iced chocolate was thick, rich and chocolaty. Sweet enough too to cheer up the moody girl who didn’t get to have her coffee. Big credit to the vanilla ice cream topping as it added on extra creaminess to the drink. Good.
Smoked Salmon Sandwich (RM13.90)
The boy ordered himself smoked salmon sandwich. Toasted bread smothered with butter, sandwiched with smoked salmon, lettuce, tomato, onions, and sided with generous portion of fries. We liked the bread though, crispy and nice to chew on. But overall, the sandwich is still…just a sandwich. Nothing much to rave about.
Blueberry Strudels (RM15.90)
We didn’t see any apple strudel from the dessert counter, so we went for blueberry strudel instead. It looked impressive, layers of crust with bluberry jam and thick custard cream within.
So we thought the crust would be puffy, flaky, but it turned out to be hard and crumbly. Difficult to cut through the strudel and we ended up having small pieces of crust messing up the table.
Many claimed that they have nice dessert, but we didn’t get any kick from this pretty strudel anyway. Quite disappointed for its not so fresh, one dimensional taste.
Overall, the trip to pH Pastry House wasn’t so pleasant, as we didn’t get to have our coffee and their food was just average. Probably we will give them another chance by going back again for their main dishes.
Lastly, their internet was also something we wanted to raise a word on, it can only be accessed through smartphones and tablet computer, but not laptops. This means that it would not be put under our cafe list as a place where we can spend long hours there, surfing net and clear backlogs.
