Started in the year of 2011, Scallop Q is a Taiwan based brand famous for grilled fresh scallop. Their first stall was opened at ShiLin Night Market, Taiwan. Too bad we don’t get to visit this stall when we were in Taiwan, due to the thunderstorm, raining and etc bad weather. A bad memory.
We were quite happy to come across Scallop Q when wandering in Times Square new fashion area, the Tiny Taipei at 3rd Floor. Painted in blue and white, this little kiosk is aligned together with few other kiosks selling Taiwanese delights such as rice roll, sausage, tou hua, milk tea, papaya milk shake (will try this out next time!).
Surprised with the types of flavours we can choose from- Scallop Q Special, French Garlic, Barbeque Bonito, Natural Sea Salt, Wasabi Pepper Salt, Japanese Seaweed, Lemon Pepper Salt, Indian Spicy Curry, Sour and Spicy Thai Sauce, American Black Pepper and Sepcial Mix.
Feel so want to order more, but, just Barbeque Bonito flavour for this time. Priced at RM5.80 per stick, these fresh scallops imported from Hokkaido, Japan were so juicy, with a good bite.
Smoky from the grill, the taste of sea was boosted up with the addition of Bonito flakes generously covered up the scallop.
Four pieces in a stick is not enough, we”ll get five sticks the next time.
