Ebony & Ivory Coffee in Taman Cheras, KL – We like this cafe, which we coincidentally found out when doing Chinese New Year decoration items shopping in Cheras.
Humbly located along a row of shop houses within the neighbourhood, half covered by trees and plants crawling over walls, Ebony & Ivory cafe can be easily missed out if you didn’t pay attention to. But we are glad that we did. The power of food blogger. Hahaha. Just kidding. Anyway, this happy found exudes a cozy charm that makes us feel like home. Minimal decorations, a small space that can occupy about 20pax, just nice for a quiet cuppa, especially ideal for those who enjoy “me time”. Small gathering or event seems great here too.

Coffee takes center stage in Ebony & Ivory but homemade cakes, mummy-taste rice bowls and noodle dish are worthwhile too, despite the limited selection. A latte, cappuccino,minced meat with scrambled egg rice bowl and passion fruit went into our lunch order list in this cafe last week.
Minced Pork Scrambled Egg Rice RM12
Minced Pork Scrambled Egg Rice Bowl – comfort food that Summerkid will hardly say no to. A hearty bed of rice, heaped with minced meat well flavoured up with marination sauce, topped with beautifully done, fluffy soft scrambled egg. Nothing extraordinary but so good. Pretty big portion for us though. Haha.
Passion Fruit Sponge Cake
Passion Fruit Sponge Cake is pillow soft, but more dense in texture comparing to usual sponge cake. Filled with sauce made from fresh passion fruit pulp, sharp in sourness, balanced up with subtle cream sweetness.
Vietnamese Chicken Salad Noodles and Spaghetti Bolognese are other food option you can have in Ebony & Ivory Coffee, more as chef special so choices may change. Beverage has wider selection, from white to back, chocolate, Hojo tea, hand brewed coffee and non-caffeinated lemonade, passion fruit soda and mint cooler. Everything reasonable in price, not beyond RM20 except if new, premium beans for brewed coffee is brought in occasionally.
