Ground Eatery in PFCC Bandar Puteri Puchong looks more like an underground eatery on the ground floor to us, as you can only know how it looks like by stepping inside. We already realized their presence during our visit to Walnut Cafe few months ago, but it seemed closed that time. Thinking back now, probably they were opened that time. LOL. So stupid of us.
Two floors inside, with 3 dining areas – front area with ample of day light which is good for photography, followed up by a section with warm yellow light. Walk upstairs, have a seat near to the wooden window for more romantic hang out. Not much surprise from the interior but as we looked up, there’s a huge manmade tree on top of us. Something unexpected.
The cafe offers dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mainly Western food on the menu with few interesting fusion selections such as Fried Chicken Strips in “Man Tou” and Braised Pork Belly in “Man Tou”. All priced below RM25.
Latte RM9
Planned to order only seasonal tea and latte at first, as we were still full from lunch but we get intrigued with the Gei Dan Zai dessert, a newly launched sweet treat in Ground Eatery. Asking one of the staffs about the portion, she told us that the size was good enough for two. So we opted for one to try.
Eggettes with Cornflakes & Ice Cream RM19
A rack of freshly made eggettes, topped with huge scoop of roasted white chocolate lavender ice cream, generously garnished with chicken floss ( *yeap, chicken floss), original cornflakes and a side of berry sauce to complete.
The eggettes sheds some difference compare to Hong Kong real Gei Dan Zai. Crispy outside but densely filled within, hence more chewy, like eating traditional Chinese egg cake. Chicken floss comes in just right for a touch of savouriness, yet not overwhelmed, pairing well with tangy sweet berries sauce. Ice cream is something we like, not too sweet with very, very mild floral hints.
Seasonal Tea RM9
Seasonal Tea is highly recommended, as Ground Eatery offers various tea on seasonal basis. Strawberry Tea and Lemon Fresh Tea are on menu during our visit. Had Lemon Fresh Tea, quite OK. Refreshing as it is named, proved as the light lemon sourness hits our palate on the first sip.
Service is friendly. No service charge and GST charge so far. Coffee is great. Gonna check out Braised Pork Belly in Man Tou and Ground Eatery Style Pork Bolognese the next time.
