Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee at TTDI Kuala Lumpur is soon all set to win the heart of pastries lovers with the-currently-most-popular-croissant-filling in town – Salted Egg Yolk ( If you know about Le Bread Days SS2) in their signature doughnut, and cronut – the “doughnut + croissant” hybrid.
European-style store front, revealing Dotty’s baking goodness behind the huge glass window. We believe every passerby will stop for seconds browsing through delicious breads, tarts, cakes, pastries, donuts and desserts that Dotty has to offer. Take home few of them? Certainly yes. Better if you had them on the spot, for “food-fits-the-ambience” kind of breakfast or high tea.
We was in Damansara Uptown initially for Hail’s Soft Serve Ice Cream but as usual, parking lots were scarce. The mood for dessert was intense hence we shifted to TTDI, feeling glad to discover Dotty ‘s Cafe by random. Dotty’s is located along Jalan Tun Mohd Faud 2, next to Kedai Kopi Kuan Lee. Same row with Pickle & Fig TTDI and Izakaya Kushi Raku Japanese Restaurant.
Bright, cheerful dining space during day time, putting together high chairs and tables plus normal cushioned bench seating in a balanced quantity. Solid blue walls, black colour window frames, tiffany blue seats with marble table tops, wooden furnishing at the center, charming kitchen wall tiles and marble flooring – a good contrast in colours, texture and shapes for the interior.
One of the staffs in Dotty’s told us the cafe was not fully opened yet, but we really appreciate their effort in accommodating our order. Big thanks to the kitchen for churning out a Salted Egg Yolk Cronut for us, as this item had actually SOLD OUT by the time we reached.
So our cronut was definitely fresh, helmed with layers of crispiness and most importantly, the intrigued, yellowish salted egg yolk sauce sandwiched within the pastry! It was gooey, creamy, aromatic, laid with sweet-savoury concoction that made us went nuts. RM11 for one Salted Egg Yolk Cronut may be expensive but seeing the generous amount of filling and laborious process in preparing cronut, it worth the price. They also have Salted Egg Yolk Doughnut, Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Cronut, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cubiod currently, expect more lining up on the pastries counter in near future. Do come early to avoid disappointment.
Apart from cakes & pastries, Dotty’s has a full-fledge food menu including all-day-breakfast (egg benedict, big breakfast, french toast, baked eggs), salad & soup (pumpkin salad, caesar salad, mushroom soup), sandwiches ( grilled chicken, salted beef, smoked salmon, tuna melt, grilled cheese, wild mushroom), main courses ( lamb stew, oxtail soup, salted egg yolk spaghetti, meatball spaghetti) , desserts ( brownies, meringue cake, raspberry pavlova) to please. Everything priced below RM30, except the Big Breakfast which costs you few more bulks.
Drinks are general, summing up classic coffee like long black, latte, cappuccino, cold brew; tea; carbonated drinks; specialty drinks such as doughnut latte, tiramisu latte, orange chocolate, salted caramel latte, matcha latte and so forth.
In sum, service in Dotty’s is good and polite. Nice food and coffee. Love the environment as it is not so crowded yet.
