SOLO Mall Hong Kong, we’ve never heard about this mall until one of our friends recommended us to visit during our trip to Hong Kong. He knew that we love hopping around independent designer stores, stationary shops and hand-crafted accessories corners when we travel to each country, therefore he told us SOLO is an ideal mall for us to discover unique stuffs.
You can trace down SOLO Mall in Causeway Bay, Western (Sai Wan), North Point, Aberdeen, and Tsim Sha Tsui. The main idea for SOLO is to provide entrepreneur with quick start-up and cost-effective offices or shop spaces at prime locations. Each SOLO is equipped with broadband Internet access, professional security system and renovated with basic furnishing. All you need to do is just move in, plug in, arrange your product or services and begin your business immediately. Definitely a good choice for business starter who seek for low cost rental from around HKD10k per month.
Asides benefiting entrepreneur, SOLO Mall is also shopping paradise for shoppers. From clothing, accessories, shoes, facial, nail beauty, food products, homemade cakes, bakery, cafe, toy collection, physical pop-up store for online labels, music classes, designer cakes, etc., SOLO Mall is complete with everything, from classic favourite to modern designs, and more beyond as you discover deeper.
We checked out SOLO Sai Wan, which is located below Apple Dorm. To reach, align at MTR Sai Ying Pun, Exit A2, turn left and then turn right when you reach a cross junction. Continue walk and you will see Western SOLO on your left at Connaught Road West.
You can hardly miss the ground floor building appears in white, and the florist shop along the road is exceptionally beautiful.
Western SOLO occupies four floors, with the ground floor known as SOLO Avenue, and more shops, retails, workshops and galleries on upper floors. We walked around the main shops in ground floor, discovering many interesting knick-knacks.
Our first stop was 他的玩具所 (G007 ), literally means “His Toys Store”. The owner himself is a great fans of toys collections. One can tell by just looking at all the different sizes of toys squeeze within in this mini shop. Toys lovers can look for precious limited edition toys and figure here, such as Captain Tsubasa; or in case you were finding particular figures, you may seek help from “his toys store”. They will probably help out to search in Japan if possible.
Continue strolling along shops in SOLO Western and got hooked with BAEM Concept (G009), a fashion brand famous for their cap, hat and necklace from Korea. The very hip-hop style. Apart from visiting this only physical store in Hong Kong, customers can also shop them online at ZALORA Hong Kong, Macau and Malaysia fashion shop. For more information, visit their Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/baem.kr/ or Instagram account @baemhat.
Vintage Store (No. 87) sells old HK style vintage and collections like cigarette can, old style soda bottles, London bus, traditional fans, old style film poster, just to name a few. Among the many collectibles, the most valuable one goes to London Fire Brigade Model (Dennis F106 Pump Escape), which worth around HKD6,000+.
Daily Bread (No. G7-38) is our favourite shops! Because it relates to FOOD. Hehehe. Daily Bread delivers handmade bread and cake with gluten-free flour, and churns out delicious cheesecake, lemon tart, dessert from France, USA and few other countries. Their Lemon Tart air-flown from France is really awesome. No lies. It sells like a hot cake. Be early or be regret. Creme Brulee Tart is equally delicious too.
SOLO Mall Sai Wan can accommodate more than 300 offices and shops, worth spending half a day for shopping here. Who knows, you may find few pieces of clothes that suit you here! Some dress here are really pretty, cheap at discounted price too.
