Question Mark Cafe, we discovered this new coffee place in Pandan Indah KL during our dinner at Hometown Steamboat yesterday. Corner lot, easily spotted for its floor-to-ceiling huge windows lined with black frames and IKEA outdoor dining furniture. Very common design for cafes nowadays, but considered outstanding when it appears in Pandan Indah, seeing that this neighbourhood area is more well-known for local Chinese street food such as Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee, Chung Ko Hakka Mee, Ampang Yong Tau Fu.
We then browsed through Question Mark Kitchen Cafe Facebook and Instagram, reading reviews from some customers to check out what the cafe has to offer. A mix of positive and negative comments but overall seem satisfying, hence we decided to visit for breakfast.
Question Mark Cafe put together concrete grey, black and white its interior, completed with a touch of charm from fresh baby’s breath flowers on each table. Grey-ish like simplicity, subtle daylight to shed a calm, relaxed, Instagram-worthy ambience.
The menu has wide selections with affordable price from ~RM10 to RM25, sufficient from brunch till dinner. French Toast, Buttermilk Pancake, French Toast, English Omelette, Egg Benedict and QM American Big Breakfast are served all-day; Salad, soup, pasta, burger, chicken chop, lamb chop, fish & chips are available from 12PM till kitchen close. Spotted their Mentaiko Pasta at only RM14.90, quite cheap and planned to test out but unfortunately, Question Mark Cafe was having technical issue with their kitchen and unable to serve pasta. Nevermind, next time.
QM Big Breakfast RM23
We settled down for QM Big Breakfast. As usual, sausages, beef bacons, sunny side up, saute mushrooms, baked beans, salad, toasted bun, grilled tomato and hashed brown to sum up the hearty platter. Not much surprise but decent treat for weekend morning.
You can add RM3 for tomato, baked bean, bread, egg, hash brown; RM4 for egg truffle, sausage or smoked salmon.
Mocha RM12
Look out for dishes and drinks with (?), which mean Question Mark Cafe must-order. For beverage section, Green Tea Latte, Mocha, Passion Fruit Tea, Espresso Bomb and Hot Chocolate with Marshmallow are some of the highly recommended. Pair them with Strawberry Napoleon, Bread Butter Pudding, Ice Cream Pancake, Chocolate Lava. or cakes in dessert counter if you dropped by during teatime.
Latte RM11
Coffee falls on classic black( no milk) and white (with milk) including flat white, latte, cappuccino, long black, espresso, piccolo latte, machiatto, pulling double shot into each cup. Tea, soft-drink, mocktail, juices are available too.
Comments: Coffee was not bad. Fair service. Cozy environment. Reasonable price for food but taste wise, since we had only Big Breakfast, we couldn’t conclude much. Heard that Hainanese Lamb Chop, Beef Patty Burger, Salmon Rice Burger and truffle-infused special menu is noteworthy, will check out soon.
