Weather in Kuala Lumpur is pretty bad recently. Scorching hot, worsen with haze. Outing activities are not encouraged but staying indoors are quite boring. Hence we decided to have a short gateway within the country, to the nearest colder place over the weekend. It is either Genting Highlands or Cameron Highlands. We settled down for Genting Highlands.
It was a last minute decision, hotel ‘s room not booked yet. To save the hassles of browsing through different websites to compare prices, we visited HotelsCombined.com, a price comparison website we came across recently. HotelsCombined.com helps to compare hotel rooms prices and availability from all the top travel sites around the world, including Agoda, Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com, LateRooms and many many more, then aggregate the best available rate and prices to you.
We just key in relevant information (Destination, check-in, check-out, guests) and HotelsCombined trawls through price comparison of hotels from different booking sites, and return us a list with best price guaranteed within seconds. Violaa, we’ve got our great deal at RM156 per room/night from HotelTravel.com. Thanks HotelsCombined.com!
A good news for us to know this, as with the help from HotelsCombined.com, now we do not have to click on different booking website, write down their price and check over again and again before booking our hotel. Simple and hassles saving, especially when we’re in a rush to book an accommodation, such as this time short gateway to Genting Highlands. Guess we’ll visit HotelsCombined.com quite often for our coming trip’s accommodation.
So here we are, checking into Genting First World Hotel & Plaza the next day. We’re glad to be able to get a XYZ Deluxe Room, a brand new room located in Tower2a of the hotel.
Not difficult to look for, as long as you follow Tower 2a signboard, walk through a long hallway until you reach another broad corridor that is completely different from any other hotels in Genting Highlands, be it Genting Grand, Maxim, Resort Hotel or Awana.
The new extension is thoughtfully designed, a modern contemporary architecture with lots of vibrant colours to form an energetic space that definitely breathes in new dimensions to hotels in Genting Highlands.
Imagine the whole checking-in and checking-out area is completely empty. You don’t even need a staff there. All these thanks to the convenient check-in check-out system located at the lobby level. Just look for any of the kiosk for your check-in and check in. Do note that check-in kiosk and check-out kiosk are different.
Check-in kiosk is located near to the counter. Just place your identity card and press in information required accordingly. The system will issue your room card key once done.
When check-out, just input the card at the kiosk near to lift, opposite to Terminal 2 Cafe.
We checked-in to XYZ Deluxe room, not exactly spacious but sufficient for a short stay. Wooden floorings, rough cement walls contrasted by modern textured bed headboard. Comfy bed. We slept well throughout the whole night.
First World Hotel Genting Tower2a XYZ room is equipped with safety box, coffee & tea, mini fridge, electric kettle, and flat screen TV.
Washroom appears in bright yellow , well separated into 3 sections- toilet, basin, for bath. In short, our stay in the new XYZ room is satisfying for a 3-star hotel, not much complains. Just one thing, there’s no in-room WiFi available, and WiFi signalling from our own mobile operator is bad too.
Other than that, nothing much complains. Also, before we forget, do check out HotelsCombined.com for hotel price comparisons for your holidays ya. Strongly recommended. Accessible on mobile app too. Download for iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone.
