Le Pont Boulangerie & Cafe at Bedford Business Park, Off Jalan Klang Lama KL permeates aroma of fresh baking treats into the air as early as 8AM, allowing office staffs nearby to have quick grab of breads and buns, as well as leisure breakfast, lunch or dinner throughout the day.
Apparently, bakery cafes are seen gradually taking up a significant part in Klang Valley F&B scene, from pioneers Levain Boulangerie Patisserie, Komugi, The Loaf Bakery to Donutes Coffee & Bakery Puchong, Korean-leading-bakery Tous Les Jours, Moonlight Cafe Bakery, current much talked about Huckleberry Food & Fare and now, Le Pont Boulangerie & Cafe, which quietly surfaced in the neighbourhood of Old Klang Road early this June (Opposite to Pearl International Hotel).
We would say that Le Pont Cafe can be a notch above many of the bakery cafes in PJ and KL, thanks to its magnificent architectures – A 3-storeys bakery cafe with high ceilings, spacious ground floor, wooden staircases leading you to dining area at first and second floors. What’s more, a bridge linking the indoor and outdoor area, voids at certain sections at the upper floors for awesome view.
Ground floor is the area we love the most. Looks empty yet photography-worthy at all corners, with clever use of spaces, colours and texture to exude a modern rustic, welcoming interior. It combines a chill area, coffee/cashier/cake counter and arrays of baking goodness that will make bread lovers go gaga over.
Le Pont Boulangerie Cafe menu covers simple breakfast from 8AM-11AM. Wider food selections are made available from 11AM onwards, listing soups, salads, sandwiches, braised beef brisket, braised chicken leg, pan fried fish fillet, spaghetti, burgers, etc.. Breads, coffee, tea, juices are served all-day.
Easy Breakfast RM8.00 + RM4.50 for sausages
We went light by choosing Easy Breakfast, a beautiful platter that summed up two sunny side up eggs, fresh garden salads, two small pieces of toasts, mini croissant and braised cabbage. Diners can add on Sunny Side Up Egg at RM1.50, sausages for RM4.50 and RM3.00 for salad. Le Grand Breakfast (Big Breakfast), Egg Benedicts, Eggs A La Florentine are worth checking out too.
Peach Danish RM6.50
As usual, Summergirl the bread lover is more than eager to go for French pastisserie, major highlights in Le Pont Bakery & Cafe. Pick your favourite breads, cakes, desserts, pay at the counter and carry to your place. Generally self-service at downstairs but for upper floors, call for table services.
Peach Danish wasn’t exceptionally good. We personally prefer the version from Evendough Bakery at Greenhouse by Muir Ampang as it has more pleasing layering of pastry, juicier peach. Yet to check out their Chocolate Baguette, Tomato with Spring Onion Fougasses, Olive and Oregano Focaccia which seem promising.
Strawberry Tart RM6.90
Petite fruit tart with thin, crumbly outer crust, nestled with yogurt-like cream filling which is surprisingly refreshing, topped with sliced strawberry and chopped pistachio. Light and non-greasy, ideal not only during teatime dessert but also just nice for breakfast munch. Will try out Rasberry Tart and Bluberry Tart in future.
Mocha RM13.00
Cappuccino RM9.50
Coffee menu is extensive, as Le Pont also recommends Rose Latte, Lavender Latte, Hazelnut Latte, Cold Brew milk besides the usual cappuccino, latte, long black and other espresso-base coffee. RM2.50 for extra shot, RM2.50 for extra syrup and Soy Option with additional RM2.50.
In short, food and beverage wise, we love the coffee at Le Pont Boulangerie & Cafe. What we enjoy most is their ambience and design concept. Great service. No service tax so far.
