Piggy Tail, the name has clearly delivered what this restaurant has to offer. Yes, pork. You will find all sorts of dishes related to pork on Piggy Tail menu, ranging from finger-licking good pork ribs to to meaty pork burgers, pork knuckle, BBQ streaky bacon, bacon aglio-olio pasta, pork chops, pork shoulder and pork sausage, just to name a few.
Most dishes are prepared in Western style, but diners can also trace down Oriental pork dishes such as Tom Yum Soup with pork ribs, Sweet and Sour Pork, Lunchean Meat, Braised Pork Intestines and Teochew Braised Pork Trotters. There’s also G’Morning Piggy Breakfast Set that seems promising, available from 8.30am till 2.30pm on weekends and public holidays. Pancake with pork patty catches our attention.
Piggy Tail is located along Jalan Telawi Bangsar KL, one of the busiest road in Bangsar that houses most trendy restaurants, bars, cafes, dessert shops. It comes to be competitive for Piggy Tail, but they are doing good, with both new and returned customers coming back for porkilicious delicacies churned out by the young, experienced Chef Kew.
Wild Mushroom Soup RM18
Diners can always begin with salad, soup or light snack at Piggy Tail. Their Wild Mushroom Soup is great for sharing, as it can be filling, thanks to the generous blend of variant mushrooms, topped with swirls of cream, crispy croutons and buttered toasted bread.
Mega Piggy Platter RM268
If you visited Piggy Tail in a group of 4-6, do not hesitate to order Mega Piggy Platter to satisfy your craving for porky goodness. Piggy Signature Pork Knuckles, Pork Burger, Pork Franks, BBQ Pork Chops, BBQ Pork Ribs, BBQ Beef Ribs, mashed potato, salad ans Sauerkraut are all lined up in complete on wooden board.
Skin of the pork knuckle is a clear winner. Extra crunchy, crispy crackling that throw in texture contrast with juicy, meaty meat beneath. For ala-carte order, it is priced at RM86, served with Supreme Gravy Sauce, Sauerkraut, Mash and Salad.
BBQ Long Pork Ribs
We see short pork ribs often, but not long pork ribs. Piggy Tail is pride for their premium long ribs, appear in balance fat and lean layers, barbecued using their own unique Piggy BBQ Sauce. It is meaty, juicy, deeply flavoured with sauce.
Pork Chops
Very chewy and tender, most importantly, not rough and dry. One of the best pork chops we have tasted in town, and we love the “doink doink” texture. We were told that Piggy Tail only source for premium grade pork to ensure the best quality for customers. Good job!
Grilled Lamb
Piggy Pork Burger RM28
Home made pork patty, melted cheese, vegetables, onion rings sandwiched within two toasted bun, served with curly fries and salad. Each pork patty weigh 300g, freshly made daily (*no overnight freeze), ground using hand to ensure a well-combination of fat, meat and tendon, locking in juiciness to the correct level.
Premium Pork Aglio Olio Pasta RM25
Bacon Aglio Olio…Snowy Piggy Carbonara…Piggy Bolognese…each pasta sounds delicious and we had a hard time deciding which one to go for. Finally settle down for Premium Pork Aglio Olio. Glad that we order this. Red chilli flakes, garlic, olive oil and capellini stir-fried to result in medium spicy, garlicky and not too oily pasta, laid with succulent, soft Sakura pork neck meat.
Signature Truffle Ice Cream RM18
Visit Piggy Tail for their pork dishes, stay for their Signature Truffle Ice Cream. Never ever leave the restaurant without giving a try to this dessert. It is a combination of homemade white truffle ice cream, served with crispy bacon and chcolate drizzle. The flavour is complicated, with crispy, savoury, sweet, earthy, light pungent concoction. You can call it extraordinary (*or weird), but the “o-la-la it is so special” feel makes you keep scooping this dessert till the bottom. And yeah, we did. Polished clean.
