Went for random google-ing on where to have thirdwave coffee in Kepong KL, the better results we received were only two – Hinz Cafe at Bandar Menjalara Kepong and Work 31 Shop at Taman Usawahan Kepong.
While Work 31 Shop carries industrial-like design- concrete floorings, exposed bricks, tough steels construction, etc., Hinz Cafe on the contrary, is more homey and charming, highlighting inviting Zakka atmosphere.
Final decision goes to Hinz Cafe, as we got attracted with the Banana Chocolate Mousse Cake reviewed by Zings Tsang, a blogger cum founder of Re’ Me online clothing. Hinz cafe is just a stone throw away from I Love Yumcha Dim Sum Shop, and about 4KM away from Old Tricycle’s, the famous original, charcoal BBQ Yong Tau Foo.
Hinz Cafe welcomed us with a shop front painted in Tiffany blue and white, potted plants and few wooden tables of similar tone to complete the soft-colour finishing.
In was full-house during our visit, but staffs were attentive, all wearing smiles on their face. Sufficient choices in their food menu, covering from big breakfast, brunch platter, sandwiches, main courses like chicken chop, fish & chips, Bolognese pasta, Carbonara spaghetti. Hinz salad, spiral potato fries, soup and pancake sum up the selections for appetizer.

Beverage occupies two pages, which is considered extensive for us. Apart from usual espresso-based coffee of latte, cappuccino, mocha, long black and their counterpart, iced versions..
..diners can also have special flower tea that aims to relax your mind, for beauty, for slimming or for anti-aging. Seems noteworthy though. The more classic Jasmine Green Tea, Darjeeling Tea, Red Fruit Tea, etc. are on the list too.
Cakes and desserts in Hinz Cafe are depends on daily availability. From Green Tea Cheese to Tiramisu, Chocolate Blast, Cream Puff, Matcha Cocoa, everything looks so tempting. Seems like you will not go wrong with any of the pick.
Chocolate Caramel Mousse RM12.90
The must-have in Hinz Cafe. Be there early or get ready for disappointment, as this adorable dessert in the shape of hemisphere sells like hotcakes.
Shinny, glossy Beigium chococolate surface enveloping rich, creamy chocolate mousse made from 70% + 50% cocoa and bitter sweet caramel mousse, folded with juiciness of cubed pear and chocolate biscuit base.
Delicately smooth, creamy with no cloying trace, medium softness but not mushy, absolutely mind-blowing dessert. Summerkid even bought an extra Chocolate Caramel back home (*yes, we grabbed the very last one). A rare action for him, which has also indicated how great the dessert is.
An ideal place to chill out, with atmoshpere similar to Cultura Bangsar and Le Moon Kajang. Will surely come back again to Hinz Cafe for their brunch and more cakes!
