After much research, we pick Secawan ‘n’ Such Cafe as our first coffee destination in Penang. Tucked away behind New World Park Foodcourt along Hutton Lane, Georgetown, Secawan ‘n’ Such save our hassle looking for parking, thanks to its location which is more quiet, less crowded – One of the reasons we chose Secawan ‘n’ Such instead of many other coffee places in the heart of Penang Georgetown.
Double storeys, white facade, red corridor, Secawan ‘n’ Such is encompassed by a whole stretch of heritage buildings with modern comforts.
Push the glass door in we are welcomed with aroma of coffee from the front counter, a scene of calm, cozy and relaxed ambience. ” awesome.” Summergirl said.
The interior is the mix of old world charm and modern contemporary. Colourful pattern floor tiles, opened-style staircase, ample of natural lights flowing into the atrium during daytime, all complemented by wooden tables and chairs in black to draw contrast with walls painted in white.
The middle area of the Secawan ‘n’ Such Cafe is Summergirl’s favourite- wooden coffee table, sofa in bright orange, chairs in red and beanbags with dim hue yellow light that certainly drives a home away from home atmosphere that is more private and intimate. Grab this area and spend your weekend afternoon here undisturbed.
The end section of the cafe is ideal for guests who want to have a more quiet place for reading, surfing internet or even, revising homework, which we seen during our visit.
Do not miss the two iconic murals in Secawan ‘n’ Such, artistically drawn.
Food is sent down from first floor through this “escalator”.

Secawan ‘n’ Such serves decent matcha latte, a good balance between milk sweetness and bitterness of matcha, just the way summergirl loves it. Reminds us of Pretz n’ Beanz green tea latte.
