Formerly known as Epiphany Coffee & Tobacco, the cafe is now renamed as Purple Pasta Cafe & Restaurant, continuing the journey of serving great coffee, refined food as well as extra value meals to customers from all walks of life at Oasis Square, Ara Damansara. Guests can enjoy from mix & match your own breakfast platter to RM5 pasta, RM10 pasta, dinner menu specially designed by chef and may change from time to time. Menu is simple, but filled with extensive choices and unique combination that makes Purple Pasta stands out from many other coffee places and cafes blooming within the same area.
Interior is homey – bright yellow lights, wooden floorings, comfy sofas with colourful pillows, wooden tables with chairs painted in contrasting colours, shelves brimming with mini decorations, potted plants, etc. Ideal place for family dinner, small parties or friends gathering. Check out some of the must-have signatures dishes, where some you may not find elsewhere.
Our Mushroom Soup RM15.00
Definitely not the ordinary version of mushroom soup, worth every penny you pay for the freshness and creativity. Instead of boiling a huge pot of mushroom soup, Purple Pasta choose to prepare their mushroom soup bowl by bowl, which mean every bowl is made upon order – sauté mushroom with herbs, deglazed with acids and simmered with cream, thickened with Parmesan and blended for extra creamy texture. Garnished with milk foam and cheese popcorn.
Cured Salmon Salad RM20.00
Enjoy fine flavour to the full with Cured Salmon Salad, featuring cubed gravlax lax mixed with mayo sauce for creaminess, freshly chopped pear for refreshing juiciness and crispiness, ebikko for extra popping bites and dill for extra herbs aroma. Torched before served to deliver extra flavour.
Medium Rare Salmon With Mashed Russet RM29.00
Salmon fillet pan fried to medium rare, Purple Pasta claims that this is the best way to indulge in a salmon. Accompanied with garlicky butter sauce, mashed russet truffle oil mixture and Scandivanian style salad.
Authentic Carbonara RM5
Purple Pasta scores points for having pasta priced at RM5 and RM10, economical enough while tasting good to keep both your stomach and wallet happy. We go back to the basic, trying out Authentic Carbanara which is tossed with raw egg, Parmesan and oregano, further topped with poached egg to enhanced the creaminess.
Spicy Smoked Duck Aglio Olio RM18.00
Wet version of aglio olio, very Purple Pasta’s “Purple” style with complex in flavours, decent but not for everyone. Spaghetti is drenched in a bed of broth richly flavoured with garlic, basil evoo, chilli flakes, smoked duck slices, leeks, tomato.
Elegant Fish with Chips RM18.00
Dory fillet deep fried to golden brown in crispy batter thickly coated to the dory fillet, in fact, thicker than many other fish & chips, hence showcases more contrast in texture- very crispy at the outside, enveloping flaky soft fillet within. Notably good, yet not oily at all. Served with mashed russet truffle oil mixture and Scandivanian style salad.
Lamb Cutlet with Mashed Russets RM29.00
3 pieces of unadulterated lamb cutlets pan seared to medium rare, lock with juiciness, chewy in texture. Slathered with three different types of home made sauce on each- herbs sauce, grape jam and brown gravy. Herbs sauce seems to be most unappealing initially, but turns out as our favourite. Very much like a pesto sauce, but more flavorful, with tinge of herbs fragrance.
Grape sauce is homemade, delivering fresh, natural sweetness into your meaty munch.
Coffee is still one of the highlights in Purple Pasta Cafe even though menu has been revamped with changes in concept, in fact, better recipe compared to Epiphany. They were serving Cafe Grande during our visit, medium roast, taste of dark cocao and roasted almond. Recommended in to enjoy in piccolo latte.
