We first knew about Tabletalk Restaurant from Summergirl’s colleague, who mentioned that the restaurant serves one of the best breakfast in town. Perhaps next visit for their breakfast, as our visit there on one weekday evening were to hunt down their dinner choices, new on the menu.
Located at Jalan Datuk Sulaiman, TTDI, same row as The Grumply Cyclist and Wood & Steel Cafe, Tabletalk Restaurant is run by the folks behind In Colonial Restaurant, Intermark KL. The restaurant focuses on Italian cuisine with Asian touch, added with own creativity to churn out excellent dishes for all diners. As their tagline says- Real Food, Tastes Good.
Appetizer Combo RM35.00
For starter, you may want to skip salad or mushroom soup and go straight to the sharing platter- Appetizer Combo that sums up four types of finger food, ideal to be shared among 2-3 persons.
Barbecued chicken wings thoroughly infused with flavours of marination can be more noteworthy if less oily; deep fried prawns is bouncy fresh, jacketed with crispy breaded layer; boxing chicken stays close to the crispness of deep fried prawns, but calls for a juicy, tender texture. French fries is commons, paired with Thai chili sauce, mayo and coleslaw.
Tom Yam Seafood Carbonara RM22.00
By far, Vintry serves one of the best Tom Yum Pastas around the town. Tabletalk doesn’t go below the par, creatively combines carbonara with Thai popular tom yum as the gravy to create a sharp, tastebud tickling spiciness and sourness in between gooey-ness and creaminess of cream sauce.
Oxtail Linguine RM32.00
Often, in Western cuisine focused restaurant, braised meat are paired with mashed potato and sauté vegetables. We like the idea of Tabletalk putting together braised oxtail with linguine, having flavorful sauce packed with sweetness released by oxtail from the long hours of braise process gracefully coated to the linguine, wonderfully flavor up the pasta. The oxtail itself, is no doubt tenderly soft, easily melt in mouth.
Chicken Parmesan RM28.00
Very much like Chicken Parmagiana but with different preparation. Grilled chicken layered with chicken ham, topped with melted cheese and dressed with tangy, tomato-ish gravy. A safe dish to order, easily becoming crowd pleasing choice.
Mini Wagyu Burger RM38.00
Less is more precious, especially when Tabletalk uses premium beef selection for their burger patty- Wagyu beef. Appear in mini size, the burger takes about two mouthful to finish. Petite, but can be filling as you done with all three burgers.
Chcolate Cake with Ice Cream RM15.00
End the meal with Tabletalk dessert, as Chocolate Cake Ice Cream is the must try. First, sink your teeth into moist, chocolaty brownie sits on a bed of chocolate sauce, then trigger your palate with chilling sensation from vanilla ice cream. Notable match of cold x warm.
Signature Hot Plate Pancake RM15.00
Tabletalk Signature Hot Plate Pancake, call it a dessert, but Summergirl will be happy to see it on the breakfast or brunch menu with additional ingredients such as handful of nuts and Greek yogurt added to it. Pancake is fluffy, brimming with berries, banana and apple for more bites.
