This coming holy month of Ramadhan, commemorate with authentic taste of nostalgia at Serena Brasserie, InterContinental Kuala Lumpurs’s as the esteemed restaurant launches P.Ramlee inspired buffet feast, showcasing the finest spread of Berbuka Puasa favourites.
Available from 28th June to 25th July 2014, the Buka Puasa buffet is priced at RM120++ per adult on the 1st week( 28th June -6th July) and 4th week (21th July till 25th July), and RM138++ per adult on the 2nd week(7th July-13th July) and 3rd week(14th July-20th July).
The buffet, themed “One Thousand and One Journey of Laksaman Do, Re, Mi” integrates extra sensory dining experience with live cooking stations, authentic Malay specialities, Asian and Continental favourites, and ample of dessert for a sweet ending. “Do” goes to local favourites, “Re” goes to spiced, aromatic fares while “Mi” goes to allurin sweet treats.
There will be seven different berbuka puasa menus on weekly rotation, presented by Executive Malay chef Razak coupled with Chef de Cuisine, Mohd Zalizam who arms with over 40 years of culinary experience. Hence, diners will be guaranteed with one of the best KL Ramadhan buffet in town at Serena Brasserie InterContinental KL.
Begin the buffet with salads and kerabu including Kerabu Pucuk Paku, Kerabu Manga Muda dengan Sotong Kering, Kerabu Nenas dengan Timun, Kerabu Pucuk Ubi, Kerabu Betik Muda, Kerabu Daun Selom, Taugeh Berkelapa Pedas.
Ulam-ulam Kampong, Sambal Belacan, Sambal Tempoyak, Sambal Cencaluk, Sambal Budu, Paru Goreng Berempah, Pecal Jawa dengan Telur Puyuh, Telur Masin, Ikan Bilis Goreng Bawang, Ikan Kurau Masin Goreng Cili, Ikan Sepat Goreng Berlado, and varieties of Buah Jeruk continue the appetizer spread.
The section of appetizer in Serena Brasserie InterContiental KL is further extends with Seafood On ice such as mussels, boiled prawns, boiled crabs, fresh oysters and condiments. Our favourite goes to the boiled prawns, fresh and bouncy.
The flavoursome rotational dishes of “Re’s Telescopic Arrays” are generously spiced and includes Sambal Udang Petai, Udang Gala Masak Tempoyak, Ikan Siakap 3 Rasa, Gulai Kawah, Kari Kambing dengan Kentang, Ayam Masak Merah, Ayam Perchik, Sotong Goreng Kunyit, Kari Kepala Ikan and Chef Zam’s Signature Rendang Tok made from his family’s generation of closely guarded recipe that will be making an appearance to entice all guests.
Discover also international flavours such as Chicken Tandoori, Stir Fried Chicken Kong Po Style, Smoked BBQ Chicken Wing, Seafood Napolitana, Buttered Prawns, Stir Fried Prawns with Salted Egg Yolk, Stir Fried Tiger prawns with Thai Chilli. Not to forget is the delicious chicken Rice from “Nasi Ayam En. Jamil” and “Ikan Bakar Husin Lempoyang” stall churning out fresh off the grill fish.
Enjoy “Do’s Magic Carpet Selections” of local stall favourites such as “Gerai Roti Pendekar Mustar” stall featuring roti John, roti Jala, murtabak complete with dhall and vegetable curry. “Sotong Kangkung Ahmad Albab” with condiments and traditional “Warung Goreng-Goreng Cik Manisah” Keropok Lekor and Goreng Pisang are not forgotten too.
Beef and Chicken Satay from “satay Haji Bakhil” is the must try. Skewers of these meaty grill goodness coating with sweet sticky sauce proves to be one of the guest’s favourite, as the stall is seen forever grilling fresh satays, and polished clean in a jiffy once served on tray.
Highlights of the menus are Chef Razak’s ultimate”Kambing Bakar Saddig Sigaraga”. carvery of Roasted Whole Lamb seasoned with garlic and Thyme with Roasted Potatoes and Garlic Rosemary Sauce, Lamb Shank Cooked with Cumin and tomato, and the ambroisal rice corner of “Tiup Bangsi Hikmat” presenting chicken beriyani, lamb shank beriyani with condiments of Jeera Pulao with Lamb Shank Masala.
“Asam Pedas Madu Tiga” stall prepares pipping hot soup gathering medley of sourish and spicy flavours. Just pick your choice of meat or seafood such as chicken, beef, prawns, fish, squid, etc. and handover to the stall’s chef. Add condiments like mushrooms and vegetables according to your liking later.
Round off the luscious buffet with a spread of desserts from “Mi’s Sweet Harmonica” selection, featuring local and international confectionary of fruits mille feuille, pandan cheesecake, black forest cake, opera cake, panna cotta pistachio, cheese cake…
..As well as Tapai, Putu Piring, Assorted Dodol, Kuih Lopes, Tepung Pelita, Date Cake, Assorted Malay Kuih, Sago Gula Melaka with Palm Sugar and Coconut Milk, Malay Raya Cookies, assorte premium dates, mixed fruits and ABC Kacang Stall with ice cream.
