Set in the midst of Kuala Lumpur, Zakuro Two in Scott Garden serves a wide range of authentic Japanese cuisine with a twist of own creativity. Reasonably priced, this cozy restaurant serves as an ideal place to satisfy your Japanese food craving either for lunch or dinner.
Sashimi Moriawase (RM60.00/5 types)
A platter that combining five types of raw freshness from the sea on a bed of ice.
Scallop Chawanmushi (RM20.00)
Delicately smooth steamed egg custard showered with a layer of nourishing broth that gathers the sweet essence from the seafood, then crowned with a huge, juicy scallop which is noteworthy. Fairly decent, better if the texture can be lighter.
Soft Shell Crab Maki (RM30.00)
Deep fried soft shell crab encased in Japanese sushi rice, topped over with fish roe and mayo. Nothing outstanding, just mouthful of good taste to keep you tucking in one piece after another.
Salmon Salad (RM28.00)
A hearty bowl of salad that truly deserved the name Salmon Salad for presenting salmon in triple ways- deep fried salmon skins, raw salmon sashimi and cooked salmon bits. Tossed with plentiful of textures- crisp from deep fried salmon skin, creamy from raw salmon sashimi, juicy from fresh vegetables and popping fun from fish roe with special Zakuro 2 dressing that promotes a creamy piquant wasabi kick. Highly recommended.
Tempura Moriawase (RM25.00)
A platter concerning all about deep fried items- deep fried prawn tempura, okra, mushrooms, sweet potato and eggplant. Delicious to have it alone without any dipping, but we like to have them soaked up with the tempura sauce. Thumbs up for the juiciness added, though crispiness is toned down.
Mentaiko Yaki (RM18.00)
One of the best sellers in Zakuro 2. Stir fried, the noodles is delicately smooth, flavoured up with fish roe and mushroom for extra bites. To us, it tasted good but to be truth, it is very pale and mild in taste, so it will only be an ideal serving for diners who like to keep their meal light.
Cod Fish Mentaiko Fish Batayaki (RM48.00)
A gorgeous dish that has springy noodles layered with black cod fish, then top with generous amount of mentaiko. Surprise with the amount of mentaiko given, we enjoy the explosives popping fun that develops a texture contrast with the soft gindara.
Gindara Seaweed (RM45.00)
Pan seared, the cod fish is so soft, buttery and almost melt in the mouth. Boiled seaweed lightly stir fried with mushroom and mirin is brilliantly topping over, rendering a sweet sensation that combines well with the fleshy savouriness.
